For many schools, commencing daily physical activity can be a daunting task.

We’re proud to bring you Steps 2 Tokyo, the perfect introduction to the Steps 2 Summit program.

Steps 2 Tokyo challenges UK schools to walk the equivalent distance from London to Tokyo before the end of the summer 2021 term. The route (as the crow flies!) is 9562 KM and will see children walk through 11 countries on their road to Japan.

How it works

Children walk a marked and measure course each day on the school grounds. Using Steps 2 Summit unique data recording system, each childs distance is uploaded into the school account and contributes to the collective target of walking the total of 9562 KM before the 23rd July 2021. As each country is reached, a flag is raised in the country to celebrate the achievement!

Whole school and individual class challenges

The Steps 2 Tokyo system tracks the whole school progress form the UK to Tokyo, with every childs individual contribution added to the collective school effort. The included school poster and sticker pack allows easy viewing of progress as the school works towards the target of 9562 KM by the 23rd July 2021. Each class can participate in their own challenge too. The 9562 KM is equally split between each class to allow individual classes to track their own progress towards their share of the school’s target. The program includes a classroom poster and sticker pack for all classes to raise their own flag as they pass through each of the 11 countries on their adventure to Tokyo!
