Inside Story - Overview
Inside Story takes us behind the scenes to see elements of the Steps 2 Summit program in real-life situations. We visit schools using the Steps 2 Summit program and see how different elements have been embedded into school life.
Inside Story - Overview 2
In this second film, we give an overview of the Steps 2 Summit program in action. Showing some highlights from our visits to partner schools in the 2018/19 academic year.
Course Design
Deciding on the location of your Steps 2 Summit course, and then measuring the distance, are one of the first tasks to do when starting the program. In this film, Ben Waldram, Head Teacher at Lowdham Primary, talks about their course and why they chose that location.
Course Signs
Adding visual stimulation to your mountain trek can add to the sense of awe and adventure through the project. In this film, we take a look at some of the incredible signs that have been added to school courses to help children feel like they are on a real adventure!
Tracking Activity
Tracking activity during lunchtimes is simple with the Steps 2 Summit scanners. In this film, we see how a group of young leaders (or mountain monitors in this school) manage to track all pupils completing their daily trek at lunchtime.
Summiteer Skills
Summiteer Skills are taught as part of the Steps 2 Summit program. These key skills are developed through the assemblies, displays and lessons in the program and then rewarded via the class sticker charts when the skills are displayed consistently by a child.
A Tolerant Team Worker
The Summiteer Skills lesson focus on developing a specific skill in each lesson. In this lesson, children had to lead their partner around the schools course whilst they were blindfolded! It required excellent teamwork from all involved.
